Alaskan Senator Mike Gravel read part of Pentagon Papers (the secret history of the war in Vietnam) and into the Congressional Record 50 years ago on June 29, 1971 which helped end the Vietnam War and take down Nixon’s presidency and expose the lies about the war to the public. Danny Sheehan fought for the revealing of the papers via the First Amendment - against the ‘wishes’ of the executive and legislative powers. He recounts this exciting battle against the threats of those in power and he succeeded in getting the papers reprinted in the New York Times after dire threats and with his skill in the Law and freedom of speech guaranteed by the Constitution.
