Old Radio Break

Batman Mystery Club (pilot of a 1950 Batman radio serial that never aired)

As for Batman, this show is the only one. They tried to spin Batman off in his own series in 43, but it

never made air; The script for that does exist but that's as far as it went. Other than that, we have this

episode which never aired and no others were completed. You'll see some people try to pass off

episodes of The Adventures of Superman as a Batman series, but don't let them fool you.

Sorry to leave you hanging, but there is no episode with the second half of the story – you’ll just have to

remain in suspense – or write some fan fiction and a concluding episode of your own.

3 AM

Magical Mystery Tour

Ecosomatics: Embodiment Practices for a World in Search of Healing with Cheryl Pallant Part one of two

Tonio Epstein in conversation with Cheryl Pallant.

Cheryl Pallant is an award-winning writer and poet, energy healer, somatic coach and dancer. Shes

published more than 200 articles on dance, writing, healing, somatics and spirituality, and is the author

of several books, including Writing and the Body in Motion, and Contact Improvisation. She teaches at

the University of Richmond and leads workshops around the world. Her new book is Ecosomatics:

Embodiment Practices for a World in Search of Healing.

We talk about somatic or embodied awareness and intelligence, and how to thrive by connecting and

grounding in our bodies, even in times of cataclysmic crises. And how the embodied practice of thriving

in difficult times is also the best medicine for the environment and the planet, as well as each other.

The Magical Mystery Tour is a show that dives into the heart of things exploring new ideas and new

ways of seeing and being in this wondrous crazy world we share together.

Dave Emory – 1300

The Collapse of Credit Suisse

1 AM

Project Censored

Raza Rumi, director of the Park Institute for Independent Media at Ithaca College in NY, joins Mickey for a wide-ranging conversation about the importance of non-corporate media and media literacy. Rumi notes that in most of the important social movements in US history, journalists played important roles within the movements, rather than staying on the sidelines in the name of “objectivity.”

Then Nolan Higdon reports on legislation in the California state Assembly (AB 873 and AB 787) that would require media-literacy instruction in the state’s public schools. Higdon notes that technical facility with media and devices by itself does not build a critically media literate public. He warns about the overt influence from Big Tech on policy and not enough input from educators and relevant nonprofits regarding how media literacy curriculum for public education may be implemented at the classroom level.

Notes:

Raza Rumi is a professor, journalist, author, and policy analyst. He is currently Director of the Park Center for Independent Media at Ithaca College in upstate New York. Originally from Pakistan, he worked in both the print and broadcast media in his home country. He holds degrees from the London School of Economics. His most recent book is Being Pakistani: Society, Culture, and the Arts.

Nolan Higdon is a lecturer in education at the University of California Santa Cruz campus. He’s also the author of the book The Anatomy of Fake News and a co-author of The Media and Me: A Guide to Critical Media Literacy for Young People, as well as other works of media analysis. He is a frequent guest on the Project Censored Show.

From there, Ilya provides an analysis of the Russian Left, including the reactionary Communist Party of Russia, and explains the various dynamics at play in Russia. Private Military Corporations have become a growing element of the warfighting landscape. States have historically had a monopoly on the use of military force. But private corporations challenge this monopoly. How much do they increase the lethality and likelihood of war? How much can private corporations be regulated?
