She's the author of Warriors Don't Cry: A Searing Memoir of the Battle to Integrate Central High, and March Forward, Girl: From Young Warrior to Little Rock Nine about her life growing up in Jim Crow Little Rock, Arkansas and becoming one of the Little Rock Nine.
